A reckless plan and a corrupt process

The push for a massive development in Moraga Canyon is not just misguided; it is being orchestrated by a City Administrator whose tactics prioritize expediency over public safety. The proposal for 197 units in a high-fire-risk zone, dependent on a narrow, two-lane evacuation route, is a recipe for disaster.

This flawed process mirrors the Linda Park pickleball debacle, where the Administrator hand-picked questionable traffic and noise reports to justify a predetermined outcome. Now, the same playbook is being used for a far more dangerous project. Instead of engaging in good-faith dialogue, the Administrator employs strong-arm tactics, dismissing legitimate concerns from residents and acting more like a thug than a public servant.

The safety of Piedmont and Oakland families is being gambled with for the sake of a ticking clock. The city must halt this reckless push. We demand an independent review of the traffic and fire evacuation plans, free from the Administrator’s manipulation. It is time to hold our leadership accountable and stop a corrupt process that threatens lives before it is too late.
