Is City Council drowning in incompetence?

The Piedmont’s pool saga is turning into a tragicomedy where the City Council and Administrator have mastered the art of not swimming while burning cash like a bonfire of taxpayer dollars.

2019: Voters approved a pool

2025: It’s still a glorified puddle

In December 2024, officials chirped, “Pool’s coming in Spring 2025!” Spoiler: It’s not.

Instead, they’ve hosted multiple meetings since November to brainstorm how to charge you $20 for a splash. Their “Build a Pass” fee model? More like “Build a Moat” to keep peasants out. While the pool remains a concrete sarcophagus, our leaders are busy debating if toddlers should pay lap-lane fees.

The PAC’s “guiding principles”?

Principle #1: Make it unaffordable

Principle #2: Blame the consultants

Piedmont’s new motto? “We delay, you pay.” Bring your own floaties—council members need them for their next “financial analysis” paddle session.

It appears that the only thing deeper than the construction pit is the Piedmont leadership’s incompetence.
