Time For Binks Gym To Have A Complete Facelift
Each basketball season, PHS boys and girls basketball teams compete for limited time in Binks Gym. When Binks Gym hosts games, the other PHS basketball teams – along with girls volleyball – are redirected to Buzz or Morrison Gym which often result in practices late into the evening.
Not only does this shuffle incovenience PHS teams, but the Piedmont Middle School and Piedmont Recreation Department are effected by having to contend for gym space also.
There needs to be a consideration in future facilities planning to replace Binks Gym with a new two-story facility containing both a practice and regulation gym.
If PUSD can build a new STEAM building (which is marvelous) and a new theater (a total dud because how many times is it truly utilized) than PHS indoor athletes deserve more on-site gym space.
